Driving back from GenCon today! It was a really lovely time - I enjoyed staying with the Unofficial Australian Delegation ( @storybrewersroleplaying.com and @ravensridgeco.bsky.social ) who are so nice and also brilliant designers. Already can't wait for next year!

Exactly the level of shitty writing I'd expect from the kind of people willing to work with an adjudicated wife-beater.
This feels grimly accurate. I think for most people, engagement with the party feels like getting on Temu’s mailing list: Just a neverending stream of spam asking for cash and no other meaningful call to be part of anything that might generate any sense of identity or community.
Feild@feild.work · 2mo agoThere's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing
A lot of people now probably don’t realize this, but parties USED to be a lot more like civic associations at the local level, like the Elks or the Kiwanis. They were important social organizations, not just those people who hit you up for $5 every other day.
