Replies to this giving some fantastic opportunities to nod in agreement at the wise souls recommending some of your personal favourites/eye roll at the bizarre choices suggested by complete fools. Also, maybe even more titles to add to the “to read” list.

If you met someone who had fallen out of love with reading, and you had one shot at getting them back into it, what book would you give them? For a thing.

💯 this flight is sketch 🧊🛩️ The flight started at the ICE hub in Alexandria, Louisiana. It's a private plane owned by Jordache owner Joe Nakash and his partner Eli Gindi. They have previously offered their planes for ICE flights to Africa and Southwest Asia. We'll keep an eye on this one 👀

There are a number of planes in ICE's charter fleet that I'm monitoring for potential third-country removals today, but the flight patterns are unusual enough that I'm waiting for more info. This one though? This private jet operated by Talon Air is most likely an ICE flight.

Proud that the Ally’s Act — my bipartisan bill to ensure private insurers cover osseointegrated devices like bone-anchored hearing aids — now officially has over 100 co-sponsors in the U.S. House.    We’ll keep fighting to get it across the finish line!

The NAACP has released a statement while the Tarrant County Commissioners Court considers a proposal today that would cut the number of Election Day polling locations nearly in half "Let's call this what it is… voter suppression"

Tarrant County, Texas, could see around 50 percent fewer polling locations in November's election.

"Let's call this what it is… voter suppression," said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. "Cutting nearly half the places where people can cast a ballot doesn't save democracy money, it costs voters their voice. Tarrant County is home to a significant number of Black and Latino voters and is a majority people-of-color county. There is no question that this plan strips away polling access on a scale that will hit Black and Brown voters hardest. That is not a coincidence. It’s an intentional assault on our ability to make our voices heard and we will push back with every tool available.”

Note: NYT focuses this story (by two Pentagon reporters, not their normal transphobes) on Captain Kai Proce, who was allowed to attend his own separation hearing bc his hairstyle fits guidelines for both men and women. His lawyer advised he wear camo and make eye contact w/board. He still lost.

YET ANOTHER botched vanity project. So now he's the world's greatest landscaper at a cost of who knows what to the taxpayer? STOP this insane ruination of our history. He won't be satisfied until he's remodeled the entire White House grounds in his disgusting image.
