The amazing QQ Discord mods have arranged a review jam for the month of September! Super excited to offer tips and help give some awards at the end. (August can be for playing stuff you might wanna review, but it's not mandatory)

I spoke at Vienna's Spielefest about Playstorming, our Monthly RPG playtesting event here in the city On this slide, I talked about our joke (but not a joke?) goal to make Vienna the RPG Design capital of Europe! But all we really want to do is make a community space for sharing the joy of design

Round two of Playstorming, our Monthly playtesting meet-up in Vienna, was a success! So many people showed up, even during a record heatwave. Will have a write up on mixuppixels.com soon!

Ran the second public playtest of my in-development game "A Mother's Curse" at the amazing playstorming co-organized by @mixuppixels.bsky.social and www.paradice.wien - We had such a blast! Added this time: Play sheets. It worked just as great with the Spindlewheel Deck by @teacabbage.bsky.social!

Me at my desk, minutes before leaving for the playstorming - dark haired guy with a salt& pepper beard and glasses, holding a deck of tarot cards - looking at the camera as if startled. On the desk is a playsheet printout with three tarot cards on it. The playsheet says "A Mother's Curse".

Had a lovely conversation with @laurieoc.bsky.social who is the organizing energy behind @playtestmaterial.bsky.social β€” I’m really optimistic about this one. We desperately need a space that neither journalism nor academic journals cover (as awesome as @analoggamestudies.bsky.social etc. are.)

Dear fellow TTRPG nerds/adjacent journos and academics: you may want to go ahead and follow @playtestmaterial.bsky.social This is the account of a new critical journal of TTRPG studies, *Playtest Material*. Read about it here (more information to come soon): playtestmaterial.org
