Not a single word about how these tariffs violate both our WTO & USCMA obligations. Every time Trump does this, the NYT & other outlets simply write as if we live in an international vacuum, where the US has no obligations under signed, ratified international treaties. The past year was a real fuckin rollercoaster. Shocking levels of mental health treatment. Well, not ECT, but TMS and ketamine. Also I guess AI is a thing, and last time I told a story about my family goings on the listener tried to buy podcast rights. And that's just the navel gazing stuff.
I was about to talk about how I'm not here much anymore because it's not great for my mental health, but I got distracted by reports the US is taking steps towards invading Cuba. So case in point.

It is really bothering me that two days ago in a throwaway comment on reddit, made while high, I called something an objective test when I meant to call it a non-discretionary standard. But it's probably fine right?
It is so depressing watching everything previous generations fought and died for be dismantled piece by piece. These basic protections and institutions, while imperfect, still pushed in the right direction. We are failing future generations and leaving a worse world behind for them.

I've not really been around here in six months. My mental health has been Extremely Poor, and a social media break was part of trying to get better (along with inpatient and outpatient treatment). Last week a dear friend died of suicide. I'm back on social media again. It's a relapse.
I think most of who have worked in writing or entertainment know that piracy is a fact of life, and has been for a long time now. But there’s a difference between a broke student downloading a PDF of your book, and a multibillion dollar company stealing your work for its own bullshit purposes.
