I completely understand being upset about the way FIFA handled this. I don’t really understand being upset that Balogun is available to play. The result is right even though the process was wrong. And I’m starting to understand that maybe FIFA & the World Cup just aren’t for me, which just sucks.

Look, I’m no expert. But here’s my simple take on the situation: If you think Balogun should stay suspended OR should be allowed to play, direct your anger to the correct spot: FIFA Demand that they be better. We do it with other sports. There’s no reason they should be an exception.

Also: if you think *THIS* means there will be an asterisk next to anything the USMNT accomplishes during this World Cup…I’d suggest looking at the history of the World Cup. I promise, an opaque review process that results in a *correct* ruling does not even register on the FIFA sketchiness scale.
