the problem with games is that a lot of people still try to market it as technology and that only worked when it was new technology. It's mature enough now that "check out this amazing feature" no longer matters. Games-as-tech makes it easier to market a game based on lists of things in said game.

We have ways of "checking whether something fits" that have worked for decades -concept art, placeholders, grayboxing, etc.- and those ways employ creative people instead of burn down forests while enriching a fascist Epstein class.
