if anything, Channel 4 haven't gone far enough here... They could out-Curtis Adam Curtis by investigating whether all kinds of things are socially constructed: medicine, illness, science, TV, language, society, civilisation etc - the shocking conclusion: "it's social constructs all the way down!"

It *is* true that autism & ADHD are somewhat socially-constructed in the sense that having a diagnosis, having access to certain explanatory frameworks & stories, having those reasons for some of your experiences & behaviours, & being part of a community is qualitatively different to not knowing

in the same way that the public embraced clipart and wordart I guess; i.e. incredibly low entry, marker of low quality, but that ultimately most people don't care about quality for most day-to-day tasks like that flier for your local 2* food-hygiene takeway was never going to be good

yes The Tomorrow People is kind of interesting (/relevant to an SFL audience?) but it effectively ended in 1979, so perhaps it's worth getting a "presenter with possible wider appeal" to require further clarification - similar to the role of a Dr Who companion if that sort of analogy is useful?

I have heard that bit. A podcast about the scary 70s & 80s and he didn't know the Tomorrow People? They play the theme tune on Radcliffe and Maconie or The Freak Zone every six weeks! That shows they do zero prep before recording.
