It's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.

Last night at karaoke I got way too carried away with the friendly heckling. Case in point: Guy on stage singing John Lennon: "You may say that I'm a dreamer..." ME (in the audience, way too loud): "YOU'RE A DREAMER!!!"

I Want Your Sex was a total blast — I freaking loved every gonzo minute. But it's kind of weird that we've now had two movies about BDSM relationships with shitty consent that shade into being abuse in one year. (The other being Pillion.) Two nickles, etc.

I just finally watched THEY WILL KILL YOU and enjoyed it a heck of a lot. It's a delightfully violent "B" movie with a lot of very fake-looking blood, and a silly premise. The entire cast brings it, including Patricia Arquette. But Zazie Beetz's heartfelt, incandescent performance anchors the film.
