On to the next one. Here's a strange special election to replace Eric Swalwell in 2 weeks. Melissa Hernandez & Aisha Wahab have gone head-to-head twice since June. Wahab won by over 20 points both times. But every AIPAC shell PAC & AIPAC itself are still coming in 10:1 for Hernandez.

But also, I wonder if at least *some* of the results are due to years of the media confusingly conflating social consequences for speech with "cancellation." While this survey (correctly) focuses on "government interference or punishment" the decades-long campaign by some to conflate consequences...

Many, many thoughts on this, starting with the idea that it is not surprising people feel that the government is much more likely to interfere or punish them for their speech because at this moment that's just objectively true.
