In the dream I also learned an old showbusiness joke, where you raise one pant leg until your wrinkled knee is showing and then you say, "have you met my mother?"
I had a dream that Jack Black transitioned and chose the name Nulla Hole
And like... yes, my reputation as a trans boy chaser is completely deserved. I know what I am. I love trans guys so fucking much. But I'm not exclusive! I'm a slut with broad and varied desires!!
Anyway this is a public service announcement. Cis girls, trans girls, nonbinary people, and yes even certain generous and lucky cis guys... I will top you 🙂↕️
A friend told me that she was under the impression that I only top trans guys - that's not the case! I top everyone!! I'm a true switch and I love topping as much as I love bottoming!! (I *do* fucking love trans boys and I understand why she thought this lol; my desire is often aimed at trans men)
Mya made a great point which is it's probably even worse when you count gacha stuff. but truly it's crazy this stuff is legal. The most criminalized anything should ever be
More than a quarter of American adults have a daily gambling habit, 42 percent of bettors have said they spend more than they should, and a majority of men ages eighteen to forty-nine have an active account with an online sportsbook.
I really wanted it to succeed even after I left but all it's clout was built by artists it exploited. This weaponized incompetence has been a problem for 10+ years. Avi should step down and let the remaining resources be used by artists who know what working without money to fall back on feels like
I worked at silver sprocket for many years when it began, making the switch from springman records into SS. This is a long time coming and repeating many of the mistakes that made the record label fell apart. Back then it could be blamed on youthful incompetence, at this point I'm not as generous.
Creators at Silver Sprocket have released a public statement regarding longstanding concerns with the business practices of the company which alleges issues around payment of royalties, poor treatment of staff, and lack of professionalism. This is beautiful, and I am blessed to be a FUCKING SEX ANIMAL! ARF!! ✨🐕💜
Once again returning to phone sex ad from a gay porn VHS that I digitized a few years ago. It's playing in my mind constantly. I AM A FFFFFUCKING SEX ANIMAL AND I WANT TO FUCK AND SUCK YOUR COCK! I'M BEN
For most of my life I thought that "restless leg syndrome" was a polite way of saying bedwetting. I was completely certain that anytime someone talked about having restless leg, they were actually talking about pissing the bed.
The way Avi has treated cartoonists echoes how they treated musicians back when they ran a music label. This isn’t a one time problem- it’s a deeply rooted issue that needs to be stopped at the source. Please don’t let your friends work for Sprocket.

Full solidarity with the Silver Sprocket artists. The publisher has behaved unethically and embarrassingly. Incompetent at best, but honestly it seems more like malicious and knowing exploitation at this point. Never fuck around with people's money for your expensive little vanity project.
Artists at Silver Sprocket have released their statement. I've personally severed all ties to the publisher because my book had not been printed yet, but there are plenty of artists whose careers are more enmeshed. Please read the statement, share, and support. cartoonist.coop/sprocket-art...

If you're in ludicrous debt it might be time to stop printing new books. When you double down and print more and wiggle your way out of paying your artists you're entering 2dc*oud territory. Is that really who you want to emulate.
I had to cancel planned books when the pandemic began and that sucked and I felt really bad about it because I wanted to see those books in print but it was *infinitely* preferable to NOT PAYING PEOPLE MONEY I OWED THEM, JFC
Like this is a small industry and there's not a ton of money here. You are assuming risk as a publisher. If you make a commitment you need to be willing to honor it even if it means personal sacrifice, and up front about challenges you're facing.
It's dishonest and anti-punk (lol) to say you're going to pay an artist 50% of profit from every sale and then attach an invisible asterisk that's like (by the way, "sales" aren't what you think and you might get 25% after fees but you should be SO grateful for that and why are you asking questions)
Diskette operated on a 50/50 split (and with our initial artists a 60/40 split where 60% went to the artist) and that was a GUARANTEED way to lose money but it felt important to me! I had a spreadsheet set up with every sale, how it was calculated, and the amount the artist was due. Transparent.
I was in a position to do that with Diskette and I thought it was worthwhile but like... it's fucked and embarrassing for *any* publisher to not pay what they owe because they ran out of money. You have to make good on your promises and if you're not able to you need to print fewer books!
Keeping my mouth shut mostly but let me tell you from experience that the one thing you can be 100% absolutely certain of as an indie comics publisher is that you are going to bleed money. That's just how it is. You can't act surprised about it. You need to be willing to spend SO MUCH of your own $$

I wrote a tribute for Bob Flanagan as part of a marathon reading in his honor today. Here's the text of what I read:
Watching Jackass: wow skateboarding seems really fun Watching CKY: skateboarders are demons from hell [pejorative, unsexy]
Having seen all the CKY videos I can now confidently say: oh my god they're unwatchable. Jackass made Bam and his crew seem somewhat charismatic instead of like a bunch of evil losers and racist sex criminals.
