The Ghost in the Shell RPG, based on the original manga, has just gone live on Backerkit. I co-wrote and co-designed this game alongside Alessio. I’ve seen quite a bit of buzz around the Synthesis Conflict system which is really great as that was one of my main contributions 😄 Check it out:

People are always talking about the things we have today that our ancestors didn't, but nobody wants to look at the things our ancestors had that we've lost. Like community, and free time, and environmental sustainability, and a collective that cares whether we live or die

Since there is a little trend I thought I would share my Patreon. I am moving towards being completely independent, buying all the games I review (not including the work I do for TTGM). Your support can help make that happen. www.patreon.com/c/thegiantbr...

Another day another adventure! This time we visited Bamburgh Castle. Dating back to 547 AD, it was the royal citadel for the Kings of Northumbria, widely believed to be the location of Joyous Garde, the mythical fortress and home of the Arthurian legend. Even today it feels like a place of power.

Walking to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) I saw a rare 1,200 year old glass counter from a gaming set. A king piece from a uniquely northern version of "Tafl", a wargame played before the arrival of chess in the 11th century. Another reminder that board games and play are an integral part of history.

The Lindisfarne gaming piece is an incredibly rare, 1,200-year-old artifact. Unearthed in September 2019 during a community dig by DigVentures and Durham University, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the early medieval monastery's culture.Lindisfarne Castle is a 16th-century castle located on Holy Island, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England, much altered by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901.The Pilgrim's Way is a historic, 3-mile (4.8 km) walking route across the tidal flats to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in Northumberland. The Pilgrim's Way is a historic, 3-mile (4.8 km) walking route across the tidal flats to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in Northumberland.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

An owl handler I met (although not the one in my anecdote) with his beautiful owl.
