this is gonna be a hot take, but i don't think bluesky getting to be known as a liberal woke echo chamber does the platform and its many non-political communities any justice, and that reputation shifting would be a good thing

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Kotaku parading that garbage "recompilation" Generation 1 Pokémon project is genuinely upsetting. I was hoping the communities would reject vibe coded garbage, but these people are now intentionally hiding the usage and even lying that it's hand-written to peddle their slop onto others.

cool to see that the banana mania mod loader i spent countless hours doing research and reverse-engineering work on is included here! alongside sm64plus, of course finally, talentless hacks can now use my work to pretend they built something, and i get nothing! the democratization of code is here!!

splatoon raiders first impressions: very fun very good game. it feels like a mixture of side order, salmon run, and classic splatoon single player, and it works ...though it's also the first time in a while i felt like a non-pokemon nintendo game is held back by not having enough time/budget

in mario odyssey there are multiple missions involving npcs terrified of goombas, so you'd think goombas are just some mindless, savage beasts but then you look at the paper mario games and it turns out they're just marginalized members of society toads and bonnetons are just racist as fuck

today marks 25 years of mario fan games galaxy, a community that matters to me a lot i found mfgg back in 2009. i was young, insecure, and very much still figuring out who i was. and it somehow became instrumental in who i am today, both as a developer and as a person happy birthday mfgg
