People are posting like they are exhausted with Odyssey discourse but people arguing about what song the sirens sang and the concept of film as a medium to convey meaning is basically all I've ever wanted. Just enjoy Clytemnestra vague posting while you can

I wish to become the kind of person who sees the world through the lens of those I love and I think it would make my enjoyment of Oda Nobunaga more rad too. The drama of history comes from it being lived by people who love, fear, and dream as you do.

"My kid suddenly asked, 'What historical era do you like?' This old history nerd's blood kicked in & I shot off, 'I ahh used to like the Bakumatsu [end of Shogunate] and the Warring States Period...' He replied, 'I like the Reiwa Era bc it's when my little brother was born."

Well. Officially unemployed. Left the game store that I was promised part ownership of, but was screwed over and used. In the meantime, both @victoriascott.bsky.social and I are using @trangirlismo.bsky.social as our main sources of income RN, so it'll be great to focus on the show for a while

F1 today has all my favorite plotlines. Lewis wins, George is defeated but gets 2nd pantomime villain style, Charles is under some kind of vaguely Greek curse where the thing he loves betrays him over and over...

Been watching TNG before bed and literally once an episode there's a frame that's the hardest thing you've ever seen in your life. Cannot overstate how much more fun it is to enjoy something as a work created by people doing jazz with sci-fi short stories and not as some kind of lore hound.

Guinan from Star Trek The Next Generation s4e17 has some kind of gold luxury blaster for when people get too rowdy in Ten Forward.

english isn't for cowards. if you're not saying 'torpify,' that's a skill issue. there's no Académie Française telling you what to do. if you try to type 'pallific' and freak out when you see a little red underline, maybe you're not ready to roll with the big dogs.
