“One day if I do go to heaven...I'll look around and say, 'It ain't bad, but it ain't San Francisco.’” - Herb Caen

Oh poo. Got into bed to take a nap and remembered this the most non-nap day possible in San Francisco. Man. I hate Fleet Week. It’s practice day today and they dive bomb the shit out of my house.

“GOTTA LEARN AI OR BE LEFT BEHIND.” Good. Fuck off! Leave me behind! Enjoy your artbarf rapture, your janky Temu future. I’ll be back here looking at real birds and writing weird, also real, books.

Dolly Parton is the perfect example of “show not tell” in story telling. Parton didn’t publicize her political affiliation but she proudly supported her trans chauffeur of over 30 years, showed continuous love for the LGBTQIA+ community, used her royalties to support black communities, etc.

When I was probably between two - four and scared of showers, my mom would tell me stories about Megalina. Megalina was a little girl (with a brilliant scientist mother) whose tears would combine with the shampoo to turn her hair green. The only way to stop the green was to be brave and not cry.

No one tells you entering your late 40s means dinner is now two veggies, one fruit, a vegetable based spread/dip for those veggies, a bit of protein and a dried plum are what’s needed to keep everything running at minimal standards. HBD to me.

What’s with the f*ed up William Tell apple punishment scene in the first two minutes of the Lanterns pilot? Tell me we’re supposed to find it deeply troubling.

God, I hate this time of daylight. I woke up from one of those nightmares where you have no idea where or when you are and I spent a good sixty seconds thinking it was 7:38 pm and I didn’t know what had happened to me for almost a day.

Chief Mouser Larry the Cat was at Downing Street to welcome Andy Burnham, Britain's seventh prime minister in a decade. CNN's Anna Stewart managed to get a few moments with the 19-year-old famous feline.
