All I remember was that it was vaguely boring but I loved the music and was obsessed with Diane Lane’s rocker chic look. And yup still feel the same. I wonder how many “dark gritty comic book type shows” were influenced by this aesthetic…

This is an absolutely wonderful recap of Star Trek III and its place in 1980s summer cinema. It totally gives the lie to the myth of the bad odd-numbered Star Trek movie. Only one nitpick: The ending would be *way* longer than it already is if we had to watch them climb the steps.
