My friends and I have a book club set up on @thestorygraph.com and the asynchronous-friendly features always impress me 🥹 I’m able to leave comments on our current book, “The Raven Scholar,” by Antonia Hodgson and mask spoilers for other people that haven’t reached the same % of progress 🙌🏽❤️

After a sad departure from @ucsandiego.bsky.social, I was able to find a role in industry! 🥹✨ The job market was really tough (some places had ~5-7 rounds of interviews), especially while managing post-surgery healing … but made it through! 🙌🏽 #AcademicChatter @academic-chatter.bsky.social
I haven't posted here in a while, but I got the notice at the end of last month that due to a lack of funding, I've been laid off from my postdoctoral position 🥲 My last day with @ucsandiego.bsky.social is on May 29th and it's very bittersweet as a double alumni to be on the chopping block 🧜♂️
NYC Postdocs: join us for this month's Postdoc Night Science event! Having a science buddy is crucial for the creative process. So this time we're meeting at a bar near Union Square for some science buddy "speed dating". RSVP: tinyurl.com/3t5us6hp!
I finally visited the Mr. Charlie’s TMS that opened up close to me after my run this morning! 🍔🍟🥤 The interior is a VIBE 💛❤️

I’m now a month post endometriosis surgery and it’s absolutely crazy how much better my pain has gotten since they were able to cut out lesions and suspicious regions! 💛✨ I did also recently use my FSA dollars to upgrade to the byACRE rollator for when I need to manage chronic nerve pain episodes 🤩
It's amazing what institutes in the @pasteur.fr network are able to accomplish when they're not being bombed by the US and Israeli militaries 👀
You know what, the world finds a way to keep advancing Even as measles outbreaks are raging across Global North countries, fueled by disinformation, Institut Pasteur de Dakar in Africa has developed the world’s first rapid test for measles! Bravo! @pasteur.fr @institutpasteur.bsky.social

I’ve had the month off for FMLA leave to recuperate physically and mentally after my surgery … and playing lots of #Pokopia 🥹✨ I’ll be returning to lab and whatnot in early April, and I’m excited to slowly get back to bioinformatics and research! 💪🏽💪🏽
Sorry I haven’t posted anything new in so long. But I’m a Pokémon now. (Best game ever!) #pokopia

But if we want better representation... Someone's got to be willing to pay for it! Not to mention the time everything takes. I think we were originally funded for two years, but the project took four. The past couple of months the team has been going back to the communities to return results.

Also, happy endometriosis awareness month 🌻💛 People in my life have asked why I’m open about my health 🏥 and a BIG reason is to bring enough awareness to conditions to encourage ACTION ✊🏽 📣 There’ll also be events in New York City this week hosted by www.endofound.org if people are interested 💪🏽
