Regarding hobbits/dwarves fandom tropes, it's interesting that the fandom trope of "hobbits being more resistant to poisonous plants than dwarves" is so popular. Dwarves are famously sturdy and resistant to any sickness, doesn't it make more sense for them to have such resistance?

My tumblr is dying a slow death, I mainly use it as an archive nowadays (because it's been bad for a while) but it's crazy how much my numbers have tanked on there. I've been posting art (on different accounts) there since 2010, it's never been this bad before and it makes me sad for artists
An old fem!Sam and fem!Frodo piece I made for a SamFro zine back in 2022 #samfro #samxfrodo #lotr #sapphic
Me constantly forgetting to add body hair to dwarves and seeing it after posting because I'm in such a rush to finish my pieces lmao
Everyone out there take a nice big frustrated sigh.
Confession time: I also hate drawing/painting hair (and my art focuses on DWARVES lmao)
Confession time: I hate drawing hair, and I have no idea how to do it correctly. I have watched every tutorial, tried every tip and trick and I still don't have a goddamn clue how to draw hair without wanting to bite through my goddamn iPad in frustration every time.

I really really need you guys to make a conscious rejection of generative AI tools part of your ongoing political resistance. Don't use ChatGPT. Turn off Gemini. Don't read the AI results forced upon you at the top of Google search. Don't use AI art generators or support anyone who does. Please.
Oh please please i am begging, don't use generative AI for any reason if you can avoid it. It's being marketed as a quick time-saver, but it's messy, inaccurate, it is putting entire industries of people out of work, and the environmental impacts (energy and water usage) are huge and debilitating.
I often get questions about which websites are the most reliable as a source when learning tolkien lore, and my answer is always the same. It's the texts this guy wrote himself.

PJ movie dwarf fans: "Ugh, the orcs are so terrible, they hate the line of Durin just because the dwarves tried to take back Moria!" Legendarium dwarf fans: "Uh... About that...."
From "Peter Jackson's The Hobbit Wiki". This wiki not about the legendarium but instead the movies but it shows how bad fandom wikis can get. It claims that Frerin, a minor, was married to "one of the most prettiest of every dwarf-women in Middle-Earth" and had not one but TWO kids with her.
Guys for the love of god, if you wanna read up on Tolkien lore, do NOT use fandom wikis. You will be reading (usually movie based) headcanons presented as actual lore Tolkien wrote. Sometimes OCs even show up while being presented as canon characters.
LONG POST - For those with larger audiences, a repost will be much appreciated to share with as many people as possible In June 2023 it was brought to my attention (and @drnosy.bsky.social ) that there was an individual stalking and harassing women across Tolkien Fandoms /1 #TROPSky #RingsofPower
Example: Yesterday I checked the lotr.fandom page for Lobelia and it said that she was married with a son during Bilbo's quest and that she was directly involved with the auction of Bag End. This is movie fanon that is being presented as lore. And they mistakenly make disturbing implications here.

I've gotten a few comments lately where I'm referred to as a "bagginshield artist" or "someone who mainly draws bagginshield" and that's quite interesting because I've only made a handful of bagginshield related works while I got hundreds of pieces which are in fact, not about bagginshield.
Failed to work on comms today, so I colored this sketch with Pavoflordic's family. Not final designs, but it will be something like this.
1 hour sketch of Ori to accompany my poll on Tumblr. He turned out good out of sudden.
Before I joined Tiktok I said the user behaviour of tumblr (aka the low engagement) was because of sites like Tiktok and Instagram affecting tumblr user behaviour. I've been uploading stuff to tiktok the past few months and the amount of engagement I got there was "insane"
If there is ever a canon compliant film adaptation of The Hobbit I would love to see it explore Thráin and his relationship to Thorin and members of the company. Especially since it could be argued that those in the company who knew him were essentially his victims.
