induction burners are pretty sweet. and when manufactures start putting batteries in all appliances, then people will see how great battery tech has gotten.
before gps I got lost absolutely all the time...

To the extent there are problems with The System, they’re largely (1) poor people suffer, (2) women suffer, and (3) people of color suffer. These are all things RFK likes about The System. To give him credit for “shaking things up” is to out yourself as either a eugenicist or a dumbfuck. Or both.
You actually don't have to do the "well, you know, I disagree with MAHA but they're right that there are real problems with The System" thing. That's a concession you absolutely do not have to make.
There are entire buildings where people go there for hours a day for free and most would be barred entrance. They are called schools. I'm tired of people pretending to not understand society.
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.
everyone forgot this! doctors and nurses got sick and died because of this theft! bsky.app/profile/cras...
Kushner literally stole PPE that my hospital system had bought and sent it to Florida. This is big reason why why Charlie Baker is no longer (directly) in politics. abcnews.com/amp/Health/e...
Deadass, no genocide is of lesser importance but supporters of Israel have undue influence on our domestic politics. Not only do we fund and arm their atrocities, they prevent the election of politicians that would advocate for social programs that are found in Israel
This is so dishonest.
This seems fair. I would only add if the market can't support a community's need then what is the solution? If grocery stores are not profitable enough to maintain then a state sponsored one just seems like a baseline solution.
I think it would be possible to criticize the Mamdani municipally-owned grocery store thing as a largely symbolic fulfillment of a nice-sounding campaign promise that does little to fix systemic issues, were he not also quietly implementing a lot of policies that fix systemic issues too
Since “defunding the pillars of society in order to save money” and “giving all the money to police and wealthy pricks” are core tenets of conservatism, I think as a society we ought to consider “conservative” a dangerous indecent thing to be, and those who identify as such should pay a social cost.
yeah; as this data suggests, Harris lost because of inflation, not Gaza. and certainly not because of Tlaib. Harris' biggest booster was AOC, not Sinema.
Trump voters helped elect Trump, and Dems would never call Republicans a “cancer.” They are still apologizing for “deplorables.” “Tlaib helped Trump win Michigan” is a smear and an outright lie. Harris did better among self described liberals than Biden. She lost ground with *moderates.*
Battery technology is so fascinating. They making batteries out of salt! And solid state batteries are real.
Anyway I see the same thing happening in the Climate Doom people. There's this very visceral and convincing version of the world that they had envisioned that would require some very painful moral choices to adapt to, and it turns out "batteries + solar" are basically able to fix the problem.
@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social alibis swing voters by explaining that there is so much awfulness going on, so many "5 alarms democracy fires" happening, so much uncertainty about what's true and what's not...that swing voters are overwhelmed and default to "Both sides do it" Which is nonsense.
He reminds me of Randal from Recess.
Rich people includes Matt Y.
It's not bold to have a pro rape politic but it is still a little surprising when they come out and say it.
Why I so dislike liberals: rule bound, censorious, gleefully repressive, unforgiving, elitist, Puritans. I’d vote for Platner before I’d align myself with that.
Since this country has to do good things the dumbest way possible when we do get UBI it'll be a study that just never ends and we won't bring it up.
"When we sat down and listened, I said: ‘Oh my God, all of this can be stopped with money.' That’s really where we started thinking about what it would look like if we just gave families the financial support that they need to actualize the goals that they have for themselves and their families.”
Credit to Bluesky, “Nazi tattoo bad” managed to nail the litmus test on the first go-round.
Being a Republican is getting to run through a house, throwing lit matches all about and never having to connect that with your burning house. It's the easiest thing in the world to be. There is zero accountability and you'll have opponents yell at their allies for not embracing you.
I'm glad someone is pointing this out and it should be the national platform. Like hey, our entire economy is a collection of cartels that don't compete and screw you. Let's do something about it
he defined oligopoly 😭
someone smarter than I might use this Platner implosion to argue for movement away from single member districts.
I think class based politics on the left has become a cover for white male identity politics. Just colorblind enough for plausible deniability but very much an attempt to recenter themselves in a multiracial coalition.
the appearance of solidarity among these lib/left men thru an admiration for this kind of masculinity too is on my mind
A credible sexual assault allegation, a Nazi tattoo, and a trail of red flags. But hey, he didn’t take AIPAC money so he’s all good. Track AIPAC removed Platner from their endorsed candidates list.
This is all intramurals among white people. People of color and others were considered nuisances at best and actual obstacles at worst. Reclaim your time.
Before the whitewash comes in, a reminder that because of Mitch Mconnell American women are dying and bleeding out because they were denied abortion care. Because of McConnell the Russians were free to interfere in our elections. Because of Mitch billionaires are coddled while kids get screwed over.
it would have been so easy to listen to the people who were like "nah" when it came to the Nazi tattoo guy.
Sounds like the annoying and shrill pro-DEI ladies who said that perhaps running someone who in adulthood knowingly had Nazi tattoos inked to their body was not a great idea were right...
I hope that the survivor has a soft place to land with lots of support.
If you look like a young Wilfred Brimley and can spout progressive talking points boy you can come up on a lick.
I think it looks more like Bernie, Warren, et al. lost a checkers game to a toddler
AOC not getting behind Graham Platner looks like a chess move now.
The thing about Charlie Kirk being dead, outside of the hilarity of it, is you can karmically blame any of his bad opinions. Like, see, that's why he dead now.
