Yes, the Problems are bad, but this is no time for radical things like Solutions

An 11-point generic ballot is a seismic event. This poll, if accurate, indicates to me that the partisan landscape of the country, including how many parties there are and how they identify themselves, could potentially change within the next generation.
Works for me! 👍👍
one time in grad school we read a book with the subtitle "Economics as if People Mattered" and I think about that a lot
It would be nice if the media was as interested in Ken Paxton as they are in Graham Platner.
I am about a twelfth-generation American. My ancestors have lived in PA, NY, NJ, MO, CT, IA, and more. According to the Constitution I am an American citizen, not because of any of that, but because I was born in America. If it can be taken from one person, it can and will be taken from any person.
some liberals (not all), when trans rights come up:
“Look they’re trying to divide and conquer us. So if we just divide off this part *here* the rest of us can focus on not being conquered.”
Tolkien's fox is still one of the finer moments of 20th century literature!
Trump did not reach a settlement with the government. There was no case to settle. He has not created a slush fund. He has colluded with Todd Blanche to steal money from the US Treasury. This is not a “deal.” This is a crime for which Trump & Blanche must be prosecuted. It ia a crime.
I see lots of folks saying "we can't vote ourselves out of this." Listen; there is a big difference between a tilted election and a rigged election. They wouldn't be fighting so hard to tilt it in their favor if the outcome were assured. Regardless of the state of things, your vote can only help.
*stops using fb* fb: "Hey! Things are happening! You're missing them! Life is passing you by! We found twenty attractive people you don't know but could request to be friends with! Don't you see all these must-read notifications!? PLEASE COME BACK!!!" That just makes me want to visit less...
The best possible outcome at this point would be if the Virginia legislature were to pull Ohio '22 from the Republican playbook:
Someone said these were the inverse of each other and I can’t stop thinking about it

Let’s all post it and see if they indict all of us.
I love this essay very much!!!!
@chrislhayes.bsky.social ICYMI, a piece that reminded me of Twilight Of The Elites, for obvious reasons. "a world with universal basic income is more meritocratic than a world without one" www.scottsantens.com/the-angine-d...
I love how people in the US says AOC can't win in 2028, but they keep putting her name next to other candidates as their choice. Sometimes as president with a "supporting" vice president, or as vice president. Come on. Who are you trying to fool? AOC will be president. Winners ignore the haters.
When politicians and certain journalists say the economy is doing well, remember that stock market indeces, GDP, and employment rate do not reflect income or wealth inequality. When they say the economy is doing well, that means it's doing well for the rich.
The richest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% of stocks. The richest 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks. It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.
trump: *is insane* ABC: "Look how normal he is! Wow, he's just like other presidents!" (This article mentions three other disputes, one with Bush II on stem cells, another with Clinton on abortion, and a third with someone named "Trump" on the border wall)
The beef between the president and the Pope boils down to this, I think; trump believes he governs with divine authority, and that the Pope is a politician.
We elected you to Congress to be a check on executive power, not a spectator. You swore an oath to defend the Constitution, not to protect a man who threatens democracy, threatens war, and threatens the future. Stop hiding behind voters. Stop punting responsibility. DO YOUR JOBS.👇
Someone should read this into the congressional record.
