I've been doing trans rights related work for a decade and I don't think I've ever had so many friends in community in crisis. People are cracking under the weight of the despair of the current moment. I don't know what to do at this point. It's all so incredibly heavy.

As I warned you: the superstar media darling AI quitter is explicitly agreeing with Trump and claiming climate threats are "overplayed". Effective altruism / rationalism is a cult of broken priorities that denies the threat of fossil fuels. This is why Anthropic loves burning gas for power.

Thank you @edzitron.com for asking the AI “whistleblower” about his relationship to the rationalist movement — which is basically QAnon for tech dorks who believe AI will become a god — instead of all the journalists taking his fear-mongering at face value
