Part 2 of our August flower checker, the pinks and blues. We are lucky to have dodged the draught up here, although it has been warmer and drier than usual. #gardenstuff pontentilla, Astible.Spirea, Sea Holly, Echinacea, Rose Grandma, sweet peas, Burnett and Purple Loosestrife.
Our flower checker for August, lst few years we have been planting more late flowering perennials, plus some annuals. #gardenstuff The Hot Stuff! Echinacea, Rambling Rosie, bergamot, begonia, Rudbekia, Day Lily, ligularia, tagetes, crocosmia.persicaria.

Oh no! A wildfire in Glenmore and next to Cairngorm where so many of #MountaineeringBears adventurers take place! Spare a thought for the capercaillie, red squirrel, pine martins and all the other creatures and ancient trees! 😢
This must be the cheekiest young blackbird. Out of the nest for two days and he is already chasing sparrows and picking gooseberries! Even in the nest he would sit up and look out whenever we went past! #gardenstuff #gardenbirds

We picked our first crop of broad beans today! Just about enough for a bear or two 😂. But they are very tender and sweet. #gardenstuff
On another site I follow a Hedgehog rescue and they have put out a plea for us to put out shallow dishes of water for hedgehogs. You may not even be aware that 🦔 are visiting. It’s so easy to do and it can save a life. I know many of you already do so please share post spread the word. #GardenStuff
So many plants flowering the garden at the start of July, so to begin here are some roses. The very old heritage roses seem to do well in our garden some of the modern ones fail after a few years. #gardenstuff #gardening #bloomscrolling
