The strange dilemma of wanting to mess with and learn how to use trackers, but also A: not finding much appeal in sitting in front of a computer at the moment, and B: not being sure if I want to invest money in a Polyend Tracker or M8 or PicoTracker for a more standalone experience...
So I'm messing with MTV Music Generator/Music 2000 on the PS1 and I'm realizing something I don't think I've seen anyone else has pointed out It's a Tracker program but without the Tracker interface
It's sample based, all of the tracks are monophonic (thus in order to have chords you have to use multiple tracks), it's pattern based (although they're called "riffs"), there's an arrangement screen where you arrange the riffs/patterns, each step can have different parameters other than notes
You have a sample set/pallette loaded with a song and each sample is given a number, each track isn't tied to just one sample or instrument and you can change which sample plays per step ... it's not a "DAW on a console", it's a Tracker but with a piano roll instead of a bunch of hexadecimals
Okay, which one of y'all did my siren enthusiast friend buy this tuner from? #mlp
Guess I just hallucinated Wendy Carlos. And Tron. I guess no one remembers Tron, didn’t exist according to this dude.
Remember the 1920s when nobody was left-handed
Booting up with VIBES; good morning,y'all. 💜 Hope you have a very fine day today.
... okay I didn't have much interest in the Behringer UB-1 Micro at first, but upon learning the thing is a full-on 2 DCO monosynth in a tiny box? And it has an actual MIDI-in instead of just USB-MIDI? Fuck me, I'm sold. It would be great as a travel/live stand-in for my Bass Station II
I'm starting to wonder if the whole obsession a lot of synthheads have (especially in the modular space) with "generative" music/sequencing will die out hard due to AI being forced down our throats despite NO ONE outside of techbros and CEOs wanting it
I've played this at a bunch of cons since like... 2022 or something Probably should actually record it properly, especially considering what came out recently #synthsky #furry #furrymusician #undertale #deltarune #synths #synth #music #cover
g r e y d a n c e r I almost lost this in an unfortunate power outage due to Missouri's "fantastic" electrical grid (fantastic with HUGE sarcasm quotes). But I've been listening to too much 90s atmospheric drum & bass so this happened #synthsky #drum&bass #jam #music #synthesizers #furrymusician
I sometimes wonder if I'm just an auld fella shaking my fist at clouds when I back off from modern tech, but the truth is, most big tech products are no longer built to be useful, they're built to rinse you for a minimum standard service. And even children can see this.
Why are kids getting into comics and is their timing spot on?
DJ Velvetclaw But the important question, top or bottom And what music does he play?
I would like to bring over my theory for solving America’s deadly roads. I call it the “Gay Truck Rule” and it would save thousands of lives every year.
New for 1993 - the Apple Macintosh Colour Classic. The final model of the compact Macs introduced almost a decade earlier, the Colour Classic is quite a swish little system, sporting a 10" Sony Trinitron display and either a 16mhz or 33mhz 030 processor.
Please, god, let this bubble pop before every wall in our society is filled with the asbestos that is AI, it's happening so fast and we will spend the rest of our natural lives dealing with the consequences of just these first few years of this bullshit
