This reminds me of a tour of a cement plant and there was sincere excitement from the company that they had recently replaced burning coal dust to heat the kilns with... burning tires.

This is often suggested as a climate solution for the industry, but if the carbon in your trash is fossil carbon (like, for example, almost any plastic), that's not helping. shorturl.at/3jA8T

To quote CNN's Dave Goldman, "we might not go back to normal until the 2030s. And so, $3 gas that was made with $60 oil might not be possible for about 6 or 7 years."
