A couple of weeks ago I rode to Newburyport MA and saw this COVID memorial and realized this is the only one I have ever seen anywhere. And the fact that I nearly broke down seeing it is something I still think about.

For those who died and those who survived and all we list during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lately, I've noticed the trend of building apts. in the midst of large shopping centers in the suburbs. It's convenient to have your grocery store, coffee shop, yoga studio very close, but it seems like fake urbanism. And why would you like your window to overlook a sea of concrete parking spaces?

Well, of course, if you choose to adapt The Odyssey into a book translated into English, rather than having it sung to you in Greek accompanied by a lyre, you're going to make compromises to make the adaptation work; it's a different art form entirely.
