I live in a unit of measurement. Sometimes there are banjos.

In a dream last night I drove my car right up to the checkout desk at my local library to pick up a book on hold (a helpful librarian turned off the ignition because I had kept the motor running), only to be told that my book was at a different branch. Damn. #booksky

If you’re watching Fauci’s testimony remember that science isn’t an ideology. It doesn’t lie. It evolves. COVID-19 was a once-in-a-century pandemic caused by a brand-new virus, recommendations changed because the evidence changed. That’s not deception. That’s how it works.

So many people -- so many more than I imagined -- do not *want* to transcend their basest, ugliest instincts. They do not want to be called to their higher selves. They deeply resent it when they are. They want permission to wallow in raw id shit.

I’m beginning to doubt that what’s left in the rubble of the American system will allow us to rebuild a system capable of operating in the best interests of the larger public, assuming the desire for that still exists among a majority of Americans.

Reminder: there's NO legitimate use for crypto. Its only practical uses are tax evasion, money laundering, fraud, specualtion, and crime. No Democrat should vote for the so-called CLARITY Act, a bill backed by the crypto lobby that would make this Ponzi scheme even worse.

i literally cannot vouch for farmer's markets enough ESPECIALLY in this current climate buying produce local is a great way to support your community and save some money!

This is exactly what happens when public health agencies are stripped of staff and resources. You can’t cut the people responsible for tracking outbreaks, freeze hiring, reorganize the agency, and then expect the same level of response when a public health crisis emerges. We all deserve better.
