Hi everyone! I'm David F Chapman, game designer, writer, nerd, and more (I designed the Doctor Who RPG, and working on lots of other things). I've worked on Conspiracy X 2.0, Buffy, Star Trek, and created WILD, and launched #RPGaDAY that runs every August. autocratik.carrd.co

In an age, where you ask a question on the internet and the first answer in your search engine is engineered by the company's AI, you might wonder how the total control of the answer they could have... Looking for alternatives, and to just figure out how I can escape this cyberpunk dystopia.

I made ten empty zine folds for *reasons*. Now I just need to get the actual reasons on paper. Scan them, and put then on my itch page.

I will continue to dump some ideas into the aether: how about going back to yesterday's web? I see so many videos nowadays doing your own personal website and getting off of social media for the sake of mental health and happiness.

#vent sorry for a personal posting but damn... After my partner couldn't sleep at night from the suddenly developing ear infection, I worried. I should've called a taxi, and get her to the emergency dept. at the hospital. Today I scoured the town for a pharmacy in hopes to get something for her.

I got overnight obsessed with a game conceot that I think would be extremely fun to play. I foresee an inevitable future read of Jane Austen books.

While it was rather short, the wrap up of Winter's Daughter was a lot of fun. #Dolmenwood has been a breeze to run really, and for newcomers to the hobby, the whimsical allure of the setting is perfect to get immersed fairly quickly and engage with the game.

I mean they DID, just not by that name and not in male-dominated spaces, so. You know.

imagine if tabletop RPGs had caught on a century earlier, in the 1870s instead of 1970s. we debate the Moscow School vs. the Tunisia School of designs. we have a decades-old subgenre called "verdylikes." some pith-helmeted Victorian makes a stat array using phrenology. there are modernist RPGs

So I can make news of this: I had a blast in Ireland, but I'm moving back to Austria, also leaving behind C7. I immensely enjoyed the job, but I'm ready to take on new adventures! Give me a shout if you know anyone who needs a game producer, it would be greatly appreciated!

Ran my first session of #Dolmenwood for a group of new players, and it was a blast! Winter's Daughter is a neat little intro adventure to get new people used to adventure roleplay. Going for something different than the usual 5e people demand was also really refreshing.

I decided to participate in the Minimalist TTRPG 4 game jam hosted by @binarystar.games. This came to be a bit more personal, but I enjoyed the challenge. mythr1der.itch.io/despair

After attending the high school class reunion, I gotta say, it's good to see how different life can turn out. We all started out as wannabe artists, and the wide variety of different life paths just show me how each little choice in life is precious and important.

I am absolutely amazed sometimes by the tiniest indie ttrpgs, some of the stuff is such a noche thing, but it makes perfect sense to have the game. At least to me. I don't know how other designers feel about those little gems. Unpolished, micro-games that are made with a wild heart. I love 'em!

I noticed that after some years of heavy coffee drinking, it makes my heart race in moments of high stress. As a word of advice, don't overdrink, my friends. I panic so hard, I am now in the gym, trying to get it out of my system through sweat. :')
