Miniature painter, sculptor, and general enthusiast. they/them

I finished my #warriorsofathena scatter terrain from back in June! Glad I got all the painting done in one big batch, so I could keep the scheme and basing consistent. I was going for stuff I can rearrange as light obstacles, clear ground and places for objectives. ##wargaming #miniaturepainting

Currently on a quest to make "interesting open ground" terrain a thing, using these broken up flagstone plates from @fenrisgames.com & some additional bits. These will be cut up into blobs to lay down as stuff to move over & around in more melee focused wargames where cover isn't as necessary.

Chimera, spacesuit Elster, a bunch of unusual corruptions (Silent Hill mannequin! STCR), and the "important characters" (the only Gestalt in the entire project, Isa). The one-armed STAR is based on my initial impression of their baton being the third limb section. #signalis #miniatures #grimdark

People explaining why they enjoy fear, say stuff like "because we know it's not real, we can enjoy it". As if horror games aren't trying hard to make you forget that. They talk like there's "no real threat", and then also advise not to play it before bed to avoid nightmares.

I had this crab model for probably a decade. And with my recent obsession with small scale, it was only a matter of time before I turned it into a construction kaiju.

Front view of a massive crab on robot legs, with a small mech next to it for scale (the crab is approximately 12m tall, and 35m across).
The crab parts are pink, the robot parts are weathered white, and the eyes are glowing blue.Top-down view of the crab, showing the extent of its mechanization.Side view, showing some coral growth on the concrete slab that the crab is walking over.
Crab's pink shell has off-white dots all over.

Why is horror so obsessed with immersion? Who wants that? And what is the connection between "being scary" and the themes confined to this genre - which otherwise do not necessitate immersion? I hated the minute or so I spent in RE Requiem demo, and I don't get why this would be done on purpose.

And, this is finished - before that quick column staircase, this was to be the test piece. (and it was, for the lighting) It is also too tall for my usual photo setup. The last picture is what it looks like without the lamp.

In the past, I've collaborated with various chapters of Amnesty International to create resources and give talks in different countries. Today, following their "apology" to JKR for shedding light on transphobic human rights violations in the UK, I publicly distanciate myself from that organization.

So, here's an article with an interview taken AFTER the scandal - without any mention of it at all, while promoting the studio, and somehow failing to address the creative choices that look exactly like you would expect from someone involved in that scandal. Could a Nazi design anything else?

So, today I discovered that one of my followers is a forum-dwelling transphobe occasionally channeling his annoyance with videogames into Holocaust denial. I'm not sure what the fuck this guy wanted here, but this is not welcome.
