The most interesting response I keep seeing to this piece is "you can't cooperate with someone who refuses to find middle ground with you." But so many of the people saying that are those that refuse to find middle ground with him. Which is the entire point of the piece.

While many Jewish communal leaders have chosen a path of confrontation rather than engagement with Mayor Mamdani, the events of last week make clear there are better ways to begin a working relationship with the mayor of the city with the largest Jewish population in the world.

Yet another young Republican group is at the center of an antisemitism scandal. This time it’s the New York Young Republican Club, a nearly 2,000-member organization that has included Members of Congress among their ranks and hosted President Trump as its keynote speaker as recently as 2023.

My picks for the knockout rounds. Mostly based on vibes. A little bit on spite. Would love for this Japan team to go all the way but even their hyper-disciplined defense will get picked apart by a mechanic like Messi.

This is the kind of thing I was talking about in the edge case piece. The specifics make me believe this is well on the antisemitic side of the edge. But no matter how you define it, it's clear this is just an awful, unhelpful, and ultimately counter productive approach.

Progress requires friction. Insurgent primary campaigns built to shake up the system are a sign of a healthy party that is challenging held assumptions in order to grow. But also from a messaging standpoint, who is this for? I struggle to understand who this is meant to convince.

There are a few really frustrating narratives about the Israel Day Parade in NYC. 1) Conflating support for Jews with support for Israel is wrong. Full stop. Saying a lack of participation in a parade for Israel is akin to a lack of support for Jews is its own variation of the dual loyalty trope.

🧵 The candidate who finished first in the March 3rd Democratic primary for Texas' 35th Congressional District has a major antisemitism problem. There are ways to oppose Israel and Zionism without being antisemitic. Maureen Galindo shoots past that line into straight-up anti-Jewish territory.

This is the same account that regularly posts white nationalist references and dog whistles. Recall their overt references to the antisemitic and eugenic “Which Way, Western Man?” and white nationalist rally song “We’ll Have Our Home Again.”
