do not funnel your grief over this death into trek and x-men merch, paramount & disney dont need your money. go to plays, give to charities, vote for candidates who will fund public art, and you will make it possible for people like patrick stewart to exist and keep existing. a rising tide lifts all

That's what enrages me every time when chuds go "AI will democratize art" NO!! if working class people can't make a viable career and support themselves by making art the only people who get to do it are rich assholes.
There WILL BE less people like Patrick Stewart or Dolly Parton, given widening wealth inequality, loss of jobs in creative sector, austerity, privatisation of education (especially arts) & financial exclusion. Art of the near future will be less diverse & restricted to the privileged few.
Hey Etsy, I love how you tried to placate artists by implementing new changes and then quietly added bullshit to your ToS, which I highlighted below. After this month, I will be moving my shop. F*ck off.
Hello! If you are looking to assist, please reach out to our Volunteers Committee and detail your skillset in technical support and what systems you've worked in. Hopefully one of our recruiters gets back to you soon. Thank you! www.transformativeworks.org/contact_us/?... - Mod Tiana

I hope people remember that with AO3 down how much fanfic has a place in their life and are able to leave comments on whatever works they were in the middle of it when it comes back.
With AO3 down and a lot of fics being shared as downloadable files, I want to caution y'all to ‼️REMEMBER INTERNET SAFETY‼️ Make sure you trust the source of where ever you're getting your links and downloads from! Malware and viruses are real and can be very quickly spread
Just when I thought Etsy was turning a corner by trimming AI content on the site, they issue a new Terms of Use (starting Dec 16) which grants them & their vendors rights "to use Your Content to develop, train, test and improve AI." Could not find an opt out to this in their privacy settings.
Sir Ian McKellen has made a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. “He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.”

Spotify's new AI agent will leverage listeners nostalgia & personal habits to build a surveillance dragnet that tracks where, when and why you are listening to music. In other words, biometric profiling. musically.com/2026/10/23/s...
‘Spotify is now an agent’ – Co-CEO outlines company’s AI plan
We’ve been following the burst of launches of personal agents – Meta’s Muse, OpenAI’s Dots and Anthropic’s Claude Duet – with keen interest recently. Unsurprisingly, so has Spotify.

The UK’s ban on strangulation in porn is so far reaching that porn sites are removing pretty much anything that could “inhibit” breathing, including face sitting…
Woke up to the US government running my fanart through AI and posting it. Obviously I completely disavow this, and did not consent to it.

Good night, sweet prince. I can think of nothing more Patrick Stewart than his appearance on Sesame Street, matching a wry wit with Shakespearean perfection. Never met him, wish I had.
I'm really fucking devastated right now so instead here's the picture Patrick Stewart posted nearly 13 years ago to the day with the caption "happy halloween" of him dressed as a giant lobster in a bathtub.
Patrick Stewart in lockdown reading my favorite sonnet, Sonnet 73, “That Time of Year Thou May’st in Me Behold.” RIP.
Reminder during these trying times that some stories are now shelf-stable? 😅
So what can be done now? Keep the pressure on. KOSA’s supporters benefit from every moment lawmakers aren’t hearing from you. 📲 That’s why it’s important to keep calling in & demanding they drop support of KOSA & attack Big Tech’s capitalist business model instead www.bigtechloveskosa.com

So now KOSA’s sponsors (including famed transphobe & bigot Marsha Blackburn) are busy behind the scenes undoubtedly trying to force this bad internet bill into a format that’ll appear to hold Big Tech accountable while really handing the government more power to censor the internet. More on that 👇🏽
⁉️What the hell happened with KOSA ? This bad internet bill is currently locked in a major House-Senate standoff. The Senate advanced its version with its "duty of care" & age-verification frameworks intact while the House advanced their version bundled in the KIDS Act…🫠

Ah, yes, it is that time to remind folks that NaNoWriMo sold out to predatory vanity press in 2022, and then to AI in 2024, and then collapsed in 2025, and has since risen like a sketchy phoenix looking to steal aspiring authors' work.
So, wait, has NaNoWriMo rebranded as "Novel November", paid for by ProWritingAid, which used to be a spell/grammar checker but now is (you guessed it) an "'AI' grammar checker"--in short, yet another way for a griftslop machine to grab human-written text? Do I have that right?
