After (at least) six weeks of not writing, I managed to squeak out a painful 532 words today during lunch. It’s small, but it’s movement.

#SpoonieAuthChat I rarely write the happily ever after and I thrive in writing unhealthy relationships. I love challenging preconceived notions and the societal quo. I love making you look into a point of view you maybe never considered before. Not quite fucked up stuff but def. different.
Spoonie Author Chat (for creatives who manage spoons), July 29,2026: What would you like readers to know about you and your books? (Please quote-post and add #SpoonieAuthChat to your replies!)
Admittedly it’s just sort of rattling around in my brain. I end up having to do a LOT of rereading of previous drafts and such when trying to remember smaller details like ages, birthdays, and sometimes even eye/hair color I should probably write down some notes one of these days. #SpoonieAuthChat
Spoonie Author Chat (for creatives who manage spoons), July 23, 2026: Writing a series: How do you keep track of everything from book to book? (Please quote-post and add #SpoonieAuthChat to your replies!)
#SpoonieAuthChat Oh yeah. I’ve had it before. Have it now. And I find, as a disabled individual, that time and rest are the best cure. I’ll try and read other books or consume other media to refill the well but honestly, I just need time to relax & decompress! You can only do so much before burnout
Spoonie Author Chat (for creatives who manage spoons), July 21, 2026: Writer's Block: Do you believe it exists? How do you get through it? (Please quote-post and add #SpoonieAuthChat to your replies!)
Science is not truth. Science is finding the truth. When science changes its opinion, it didn't lie to you. It learned more.
Kobo is running a promotion for their Kindle Unlimited competitor service Kobo Plus, from now through August 4 where you can get a 14-day free trial and then your first month after that is 99 cents- might be a good time to check it out if you've been wanting to! Unsure if this promo is US-only!

#SpoonieAuthChat Sometimes I don’t. There’s quite often I don’t see myself as worth publishing. But during those periods I try and focus less on being “worthy” and more on “is my passion worth sharing?”. I think of it like fanfic! Yeah, my story may not be the greatest but it’s a reflection of 1/3
Spoonie Author Chat (for creatives who manage spoons), July 20, 2026. Imposter Syndrome: It really sucks, but how do you climb out of it? (Please quote-post and add #SpoonieAuthChat to your replies!)
Palate cleanser: listen to my shih tzu Basil snoring on a Sunday afternoon.
Things my new dog has attempted to steal or has stolen in three days: • Prescription bottle (attempted) • AirPod Pros (in case) (attempted) • My pillow (attempted) • My shoes (stolen but found) • My house sandals (stolen but found) • Bag of dog treats (stolen but couldn’t get into and found)
•Get more than 5 hours sleep at a time 😴 •Relax in front of the TV and catch up on this season of Masterchef •Finish Fangirl the book •Find a use for my new journal •Have someone massage my shoulders so they aren’t at my ears anymore (please!!!!) •Bathbomb and bubble bath!!! #WeeknightWriters
Q4: What can you do in the next week to make your life a little more pleasant? #WeeknightWriters
Bringing home my new ball of fur last week was really good but I also got a SIGNIFICANT raise at work for picking up accessibility documentation management and that’s been a huge financial relief. Too bad I won’t see any of it until next Friday lol Puppy tax attached. #WeeknightWriters
Q3: Let's cheer things up a bit! What has brought you joy in the past week? Remember, no joy is too small! #WeeknightWriters
I’m not feeling the spark lately. Like I’ll boot up my BYOK and I’ll have no words behind me. It’s partially why I’m focusing more on reading as that’s more passive and I think I just need a break from constantly going creatively. Maybe I need more brainstorming time? #WeeknightWriters
Q2: Is there anything specific you're struggling with this week? Let us know about it and we'll see what we can do to help! #WeeknightWriters
I’ve been trying to focus on stuff that makes me happy lately. I feel some summertime sadness creeping in and things are admittedly going a bit sideways at work with RTO so I’ve been focusing on Uma Musumes, reading happy stories, and my new dog. I even bought lunch as a treat! #WeeknightWriters
Q1: How are you holding up this week? (Or not holding, as the case may be) #WeeknightWriters
Hi hi! I’m Nash and my current WIP is May Death Find You Alive, a trans man demon summoning revenge story. I admittedly haven’t written this week but I’ve been deep in a book slowly reading and napping because of my new family member! Everyone, meet Basil (who wakes me up at 2AM!) #WeeknightWriters
Hello #WeeknightWriters ! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your writing week is going! Or not going, that's valid too

Man…… working from home temporarily for a month and a half had me forgetting how much of a fucking dick my immediate sitting coworkers are. This sucks.
Who needs an alarm clock? I have a newly adopted shin tzu that barks at 6AM on the dot to be let out despite having a fully functional dog door leading to the backyard.
The extended release Ritalin my doctor had my try is a little *too* extended. It’s midnight and I can’t sleep despite being exhausted.
I have a can of Coca-Cola and a cup of acetone on my table to get superglue off my beading scissors and if the smell hadn’t hit me first, I would have just now drank the acetone.
Any Ohio spec fic authors interested in collabing for a book release event in Athens near the end of September? I'm in Athens and would love to have another writer to do a book discussion with at my next book's release party
Took me across two days but I finally finished watching Project Hail Mary and I did cry in sympathy when Rocky offered fuel to get Grace home and he broke down crying. God that was such a good movie.
Downside of this site: no control over what hits the Discovery or For You feed. I can never tell if what I’m yelling into the void is going to hit a mass audience to be judged by everyone. Kind of a terrifying proposition when you think about it.
Send me y’all’s good vibes. I put in an application to adopt the sweetest little 4 year old Shih Tzu girl as a companion for my 8 year old Shih Tzu boy. I’m hoping I get her. I’m going to name her Basil if I do!
In light of the PS news about going wholly digital, I would just like to remind everyone If you don't own the physical copy, you don't own the game/album/book/movie Unless they can NEVER change the game, change functionality, censor it, or remove it from your device, you're leasing it at best
