Since I’m waiting until Tuesday to vote, I will pledge to vote for any candidate who will outlaw the sale and production of pumpkin beers prior to October

mfer you are the county executive of milwaukee county, you oversee a $1.5 billion budget. the governor endorsed you immediately after you (re) entered the race, it's an open secret you're very close to his camp. you know, the governor, of the whole state. stop this shit!! it's very dumb!!
Francesca Hong's opponent, David Crowley, says it's a racist "slur" to call him "establishment"
It’s the last week of the WI Gov primary and Hong is doing tv hits about old tweets callling to cancel thanksgiving while Crowley says it’s a racial slur to call him establishment.
The ‘Mingos are officially in uncharted territory.
NIMBYs trying to weaponize landmarking thwarted by their building name being racist. That's gotta fill a Madison bingo card, right? madison.com/news/local/b...
Neighbors want to save the Wonder Bar. Here's its complicated past
The bar was renamed in 1934, two months after the release of a movie that was considered racist even at the time.

Oh good, with the national political pundits turning their eye to the WI Gov race they’re now all freaking out about very Wisconsin specific policy proposals that are shaped by existing quirks in the state.
There were some whispers out there about this possibly being A Thing back when Rodriguez dropped out and Evers opted to endorse Crowley and it would explain a lot about how Barnes was treated by the establishment this run
If you're thinking about this stuff - and we're starting to, because the Race to the Playoffs is night - the Flamingos have the highest ceiling in terms of points in #USL-1 as of now.
For those of you following along at home, that's 8-in-a-row now 🫰

I am fairly confident that in the first ever FMFC hat trick
Just one reason why even well intentioned folks should not be using AI to produce fliers and promotional materials! It all looks the same and lends legitimacy to slapdash agitators who will use it to ultimately produce material that looks the same
Just what Madison needs... AI-driven shit-stirrers. Oh well, I'm sure every savvy activist in town was like "That's the 'AI font' so we know it's bullshit." www.channel3000.com/news/fake-pr...
In an op-ed for Madison365, Alan Robinson examines what has happened since the death of Corey Ruiz: the grief, the encampment, the political theater, the absence of structure, and the confusion over which institutions actually possess the authority to act.

I was excited for Dijon coming into the festival and it’s safe to say he did not disappoint
FMFC now holds the leagues best goal differential. Also only 6 points back of first with 3 games in hand! 👀
We did it again
If these pre-festival events are any indication this weekend’s Eaux Claire’s is basically a protected habitat for an endangered species (the late aughts through 2010s hipster)
The Eau Claire Woodman’s is too modern looking, where’s all the wood paneling?!
A memorial reads "He Should Be Alive," at the intersection of Willy and Baldwin, where this afternoon Madison police shot and killed a 30-year-old man on a bike. For many, today evoked a feeling of deja vu. Team coverage from @isthmusmadison.bsky.social is now online. isthmus.com/news/news/fa...
Hong has some obscenely annoying supporters that have definitely made me not want assisted with them but has also been the only campaign that has acted like it’s interested in winning over voters and is mostly closely aligned to my beliefs so I’m also in the “yeah, gonna vote for Hong” camp
After a couple weeks of almost incomprehensible levels of “Dems in Disarray” I’m going for Hong. Only candidate unambiguously matching my values and priorities *and* apparently the only one who can actually run a campaign. I hope I don’t regret my choice.
One thing to note is that Madison Police do not wear body cameras. There is currently a pilot on the north side, but not city-wide deployment. Some on the Council (particularly council conservatives) have been pushing for city-wide deployment of cameras(including moving money from PCOB to fund them)
Last night's Council was almost prescient given today's killing by police on Willy St. Council had been looking to produce more structure and accountability for the Civilian Police Oversight Board. WI DOJ DCI will be investigating this case - unclear what role Madison Independent Monitor will have.
Madison Common Council President invited reps from a national police oversight organisation to give a presentation, and Council isn't letting them leave, even 3+hrs in! Presentation is worth watching on 1.5 speed, starts at ~25 minutes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LbI...
