About to be 3 days offline. It's weird to be nervous/excited about not seeing the next AI feature get released over the weekend. Digital detox, here we come.

I took 3 years to switch out of startups, do consulting, and travel with my family. Sometimes a break is needed We did some stuff in Scotland. Watch the long form video if you need some rest. youtu.be/fr7off8Sov0 S3E8 - Living in Scotland for A Month

If you want to be great at something, you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Over-performance necessitates getting uncomfortable.

TIL that it takes 10 weeks (!!) to start building muscle with weight lifting. First 3 weeks are mostly repairing damage, so size = swelling, not muscle growth. Gonna say it again. I believe doing the simple, difficult, compounding thing over time is almost always the answer to "what should I do?"

Me: Show me where LLMs directly add to the quality of experience connecting with my friends and family. Others: Well, they could… Me: Nope. Moat. <walks away>

What helps someone be open to being wrong? Curiosity. If you have it, it's pretty obvious even in casual conversation, so you can also ID it in people. Adopt it yourself, to be smarter. And hire accordingly.

Didn't even think about it till I saw it. 100 repos on Github alone. Not even counting the years before while on SVN, and then no repos at all. That's a lotta stuff.
