Grampian Forest Rally this Friday / Saturday if you’re into that. Bit of a drive and hike to the spectator area in Durris forest last time I went, but apparently there’s now an accessible fan zone set up at BA Stores? www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aber...
Using that Kodak SD card for the sick #aesthetic pastel tonez.
Been a while since I bought a SD card. Bloody hell they're not cheap eh 😳
Montrose Playhouse showing Starship Troopers next Thursday evening, and Train to Busan two weeks after that. Look, I accept it’s not much but in this part of the country (until @belmontcinema.bsky.social reopens anyway) we’re starved for any variety beyond 2-3 current blockbusters at any time.

God it would suck to be in the midair that makes it happen; people would remember you dying as the best day in a decade AND you would never get to know that you made it happen

It looks like Iolla is coming to Aberdeen! I’ve been a convert since I first found out about them a few years ago, but I’ve never been a fan of the trip down to the nearest branches in the central belt. Actually nice designs, and very well priced, especially if you have a bad prescription
American urban planning consultant slaps the roof of Aberdeen’s derelict historic Broadford Works: “Y’know, y’all could fit so many drive-thrus in this baby if you wanted…” www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aber...
After a few weeks of searching I’ve had two decent job offers land in the last 24h. Spent a morning agonising over which to accept and have now picked the ‘safe’ choice, already regretting not being in a good position to go with the other more interesting offer which would have required relocation.
I have been to see The Discourse movie. It was fine I guess. One of the films of the year.
You know what would be a fun experience in those otherwise naff and uncomfortable 4dx screens? Airplane.

Just think, we’ll never get to see another national media article about Aberdeen in the traditional format ever again.

Guessing the gramps are on fire again? There’s a smell of woodsmoke and a wonderful diffusion to the sunlight in the city centre right now
Processed a few rolls through NegPy, a relatively new piece of software that looks very promising and is free (I’ll drop something into the developer’s Ko-Fi link though). Only used it with B&W rolls so far but it’s intuitive, not too slow and yields decent results. github.com/marcinz606/N...
Since I last processed any film I’ve cancelled my Adobe subscription (again, for real this time though because fuck’em), will need to figure out a cheap / free alternative to processing scanned negatives.
Lloyds bank: beware any sus-looking emails that say they’re from us, it’s probably a scam. Also (genuinely) Lloyds bank:
This is a very niche question but: has anyone used the free mail-in label Gulabi Lab includes when sending developed films back to you, since they moved to their new premises a couple months back? Or are they useless now if they still show the old address?
I love @huckmag.com's multimedia features so much; really cool photos from the UK stock car scene.

So, a couple of weeks after finding out and getting the pariah treatment on gardening leave, I finished up on Wednesday from the role I’ve held for a decade. Got a chance to discuss it at length with my manager, team and others I’ve known for years there, felt a little less awful by the time I left.
It's one year since the Tall Ships Races stopped off in Aberdeen. What a weekend that was! You can get a flavour of it over the next few days by taking part in the Festival of the Sea!
Getting made redundant on Wednesday but I have Spain in the office World Cup sweepstakes, what is the protocol here?
I’ve had a few months off social media, it’s been a strange time. Here’s the lowlights: 1. My grandfather had a bad fall at home and later died in hospital from his injuries. Been working since to wind up the estate and sell his house, he lived at the other end of the country so it’s complicated
