Of all the sick and twisted things people in this administration have done, this is the most chilling. Had enough yet?
This is so dark. Hegseth has some serious issues.

Council Hearing On City Domestic Violence Program Canceled After Not Enough Alders Show Up
Only eight alderpeople showed up to a hearing Thursday about the city's victim services program, one short of the number needed for a quorum. One survivor called the cancellation a "travesty."

Whenever a new magazine arrives I put stickers over any faces that we would prefer not to look at. Every once in a while the random sticker I grab turns out to be an excellent editorial comment. This one is from @wtfjht.bsky.social.
I’m dying to see what @dieworkwear.bsky.social has to say about these clothing choices.

McBride: Look, people are clutching their pearls at this guy yelling something at the president. They are more offended by a worker standing up to the president and calling him out for his hypocrisy than they are by the president trying to cover up for a human trafficking ring
This is all true and accurate. Also the oppressive feeling when there are fleets of helicopters hovering over your neighborhood all hours of the day, for weeks. Chicago absolutely was occupied by a force that considered all residents as enemies.

Interesting how much it stands out these days when Republicans actually stand up for democracy. It's reprehensible that they have been threatened the way they have leading up to this vote.
It wasn’t even close.
Wait, is this a Republican with a spine? Wow!
GOP Rep. Mike Turner: "This activity that's happening in the Caribbean where they are hitting these boats -- these individuals if they were captured and tried and convicted, they would be guilty of criminal activity for which they're not subject to capital punishment. These people are being killed."

It’s a beautiful day in Chicago at Riot Fest. I’m with people I love, there is punk rock in the air, and for today the world isn’t ending.
My Chicago neighborhood, Humboldt Park, is usually peaceful and relatively quiet, for a major city. This evening there are five helicopters hovering overhead. They are intrusive and unsettling for me, and I imagine they are terrifying for my Latino neighbors. This is all just so wrong.
Find ways to cope, however you can. Archimedes’ nose Mohawk reminds me that not everything sucks.
My Chicago neighborhood had a big Puerto Rican festival every year, and it starts tomorrow. I’ve lived here 7 years and this is the first time there have been helicopters buzzing the area the night before. This administration knows people from PR are US citizens, right? Probably not.
This musk / trump feud was predictable, and completely hilarious.
Right, so were 100 days in to this administration and the radical right is voting to round up US citizens and ship them out of the country.
