BREAKING: The Supreme Court in a 6-3 vote UPHOLDS birthright citizenship, affirming the default rule that all persons born in the United States (with narrow exceptions) are U.S. citizens at birth. A total LOSS for President Trump and the effort to rewrite the 14th Amendment.

Held: Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States
and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause.

Our Jewishness demands that we resist injustice. ICE is tearing families apart and terrorizing our communities. Jewish leaders and community members are showing up.  On 2/11, Jews will show the world that we reject ICE’s cruelty and violence when we gather near ICE HQ in D.C.

As Jews and as human beings, we are horrified and outraged by the deadly violence perpetrated by our federal government in Minneapolis. On Saturday, immigration agents executed Alex Pretti, following the ICE murder of Renee Good earlier this month. 🧵

📣 Renee Nicole Good was killed while watching ICE. We must continue to bare witness. This last week, an ICE agent murdered Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. There are videos of this murder, which many of you have probably unwittingly seen scrolling through social media feeds or watching the news.

A photo of a flyer of Renee Nicole Good says RIP RENEE with a candle under and a black text box with yellow letters saying Renee Nicole Good was killed for watching ICE. We must continue to bare witness. Full statement. which many of you have probably unwittingly seen scrolling through social media feeds or watching the news.Grey background with yellow text says Why, when it feels so horrible
to look at, would we watch?

Because too often, ICE commits atrocities behind closed doors, in unmarked vehicles, and with no body cameras on.

This is not the first time someone has died during an ICE raid - in fact, it’s at least the fifth, in addition to the 32 lives lost in detention this past year.

Leqaa Kordia is a young Palestinian woman who is being subjected to retaliatory and viewpoint discriminatory immigration confinement, because of her speaking out about Palestine - where Israeli military violence has claimed nearly 200 members of her own family.

I'm 300 times prouder to be a Palestinian.

I'm 300 times closer to Allah SWT.
I'm 300 times more hopeful.
I'm 300 times more grateful.
I'm 300 times more blessed.
I'm 300 times more supported.
I'm 300 times more inspired.
I'm 300 times more encouraged.
I'm 300 times more willing.
I'm 300 times more confident, stubborn, braver, stronger, humiliated, frustrated, loved. - Leqaa Kordiawhite background with red text says Leqaa spent Ramadan and both Eid holidays in detention - separated from her loved ones. She missed birthdays, the holidays, and the new year, and marked her 33rd birthday in a cold detention center. Most heartbreaking of all, she couldn’t be there for a loved one, during their recovery from illness. there are three black line drawing illustrations: one of a birthday cake, a happy new year balloon, and an eid gift package. 🔥 On Chanukah, we tell a story about making resources stretch: the Maccabees only had oil for one night of fire and yet managed to keep it burning for eight nights. Usually, we celebrate this as a “miracle,” a divine intervention that allowed the impossible to happen.

Funding for the detention and deportation machine in the U.S. has skyrocketed this year.
Trump’s bloated budget allocates approximately $170 billion to the deportation machine
ICE is hiring thousands of new agents and acquiring at least 80,000 new detention beds
80% of all federal law enforcement dollars are set to go to immigration enforcement by 2028

Abusing our Jewishness for hate, Trump is dishing out funding for Jewish organizations pushing a racist, far-right narrative. The Tikvah Fund which promises to teach about Judaism’s “civilizing” power received a $10.4M grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the largest in history adding ideological smut to the indefensible US gov funding of genocide “in our name.” In the last 2 yrs US has provided over $20B to the Israeli military
