A lot of YIMBY strength in Sacramento comes from key YIMBY actors being -friendly and easy to work with -accessible and on hand to provide useful, reliable information -very unlikely to burn allies and having a proven track record of mobilizing grassroots support for pro-housing politicians.
I think we can all agree that it should be the Palo Alto Bay Area
Ugh that’s right Sam make yuk-yuks about the fact that our President has a brain made of melting tapioca
How to make housing in San Francisco affordable? Build more housing? "Building more housing will just get you more techies, there is a nearly endless supply of such people" OK, so what should we do then? "cutting the 101" "curtailing the CalTrain timetable" allllrighty then!
@nextdoorsv.bsky.social I spotted this r/sanfrancisco comment I thought you would enjoy
You may only think the National Highway System are interstates, but *tons* of urban streets are part of it. This bill would eliminate the bike lanes on Market St in SF, Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, the BRAND NEW 14th St bike lanes in Oakland, and many more key bike corridors.
Guys, this is for real. Senate GOP and the administration want to pass a law that outlaws bikelanes on the 160K mile National Highway System. Imagine if adding protected bikelanes to many arterials would suddenly be against the law. Let’s not allow this.
I saw 3 Teslas in a row with front license plates the other day. I almost went to buy a lotto ticket.
Californians are forgetting the lost art of the legally-mandated front license plate
This NextDoor post claims that San Jose Mayor and former candidate for Governor Matt Mahan sent a message that says this: "And one final point: at this time, I believe the biggest barrier to building housing in San José isn’t our zoning. It’s our high cost of construction." Anyone have a link?
Investors in Trump's family crypto business have lost an estimated $4.7 billion, according to an analysis released by consumer advocacy watchdog Public Citizen. Here's the report: www.citizen.org/wp-content/u...

OK, class, can anyone tell me the problem with this research design? Short answer quiz, five words. Congratulations, you know more than the United States' newspaper of record.
"San Jose needs housing people can BUY not rent. Rental units simply extract "wealth" from people to corporations and banks." It's up to you to decide whether Bruce is genuine about this or not... I choose to think he is, because renters are usually thought of as either poor / idiots.
That's... that's not how any of this works!
Wrong. We need *more* cities, not fewer! -North Palo Alto vs South Palo Alto -Redwood City vs Redwood Shores -Menlo Park vs Sharon Heights -North Sunnyvale vs South Sunnyvale -West San Mateo vs East San Mateo -Cupertino vs Monta Vista -Los Gatos vs Los Gatos Hills -Monte vs Sereno
California, take note! We made a huge mistake with our devolution of land use authority and municipal balkanization.

NEW: We obtained recordings of 160+ emergency calls made from or about an immigration detention center where three people died within six weeks. “They will not give them medical treatment,” one caller said, seeking help for a detainee with kidney stones.

looking forward to a news cycle about how mamdani disrespected the 25th anniversary of 9/11 because he scratched his nose during the ceremony or something while Trump skips it entirely to go watch a golf tournament in Ireland
In fairness to Donald Trump, he isn't skipping the NYC 9/11 ceremony *just* because they won't let him give a speech there; he has other logistical concerns, too. Like his golf date in Ireland on 9/12

That was the best time to build housing. oops.
Fed's Hammack on BBG TV: When it comes to borrowing costs, “I think when we go back and look at the history, I think what we'll see is that period from 2008 to 2020 was the abnormal part, not this period where we are today.”
White South Africans who come to the United States as refugees could get up to $4,500 per person in initial federal support beginning Oct. 1, nearly double the current amount, four people familiar with the change in policy said www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...
White South Africans could get $4,500 in aid if they come to U.S. as refugees
The assistance, which helps pay for basic needs such as housing and food, would nearly double under a new policy.

Something “funny” about the ICC is since everybody is a 60ish-year-old white man from the Midwest, everybody has the same name. And that name is Jeff.
After they are done with the Haitians the chains are for us
We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.
I like how the covid truthers are saying that covid was intentionally used to kill off Fresh Choice. Fresh Choice went out of business in 2012.
This is a RETVURN I would whole heartedly endorse
