this is a bit of an obsession of mine especially here in charlottesville. the cost of commercial real estate is prohibitive if you want to experiment and the city seems categorically opposed to small lots and small units that could allow people to start businesses without a huge capital investment

Landmarks updated me that the stabilization work on the side wall started last week. This was obtained through the LaSalle Park Community Association's partnership with the Legal Services Neighborhood Advocacy group and Landmarks is in charge of returning it to productive use.

Looks like some good news for this 1800s Brick Baller in Lasalle Park that was suffering from demo by neglect. Landmarks Ass'n appears to have acquired it and a permit has been issued for stabilization. nextstl.com/2022/08/demo...

This is a confronting but important discussion of how being hit by a car so often leads to life-altering injuries, and life-altering outcomes for victims’ loved ones. All politicians who de-prioritise the safety of pedestrians and cyclists for the sake of cars and speed should be made to listen.

Over $100 per barrel and rising, the oil shock of 2026 in its early days could still surpass the levels
