I've never been an espresso guy, and I was actually craving drip coffee in Italy, tbh. But having a €1.20 cappuccino every single morning in Rome changed my mind. I miss it so much that I'm finally buying an espresso machine this Black Friday.

My wife's friend in Japan sent her a package with gifts worth ¥33,270. UPS charged me $331 and only took a check. That's over 100% in goddamn tariffs, which seems way off. Could they have mixed up JPY and USD?

What DOGE actually revealed, with its utter failure to find any significant instances of waste, fraud, or inefficiency is that--notwithstanding Musk and Trump's lies to the contrary-- the Social Security system and other programs they attacked are remarkably efficient in allocating public goods.

Last Friday, I joined a podcast #rebuildfm on my personal laptop in the bedroom. Yesterday (Tuesday), I hosted a zoom meeting on my work laptop in the living room. Today (Wednesday), the Tuesday's zoom meeting emailed me a summary of the Friday's podcast. How the heck is this even possible?

Chase.app worked fine for years, then suddenly demanded my driver's license to log in. I refused & deleted the app. Tried chase.com, they asked me to call. So, I called, and they said I must install the app or visit a branch. I can still login on my laptop, but no longer on my iPhone. How stupid.
