Since 2020, at least 51 ICE and CBP officers, agents, and contractors have been convicted or accused of sexual misconduct — 34 of them for crimes against children. These are the masked men kidnapping women and children off the street into unmarked vans and disappearing them into concentration camps.

The most frustrating part of the tendency towards posting as pressure release valve. As others have pointed out, Twitter/Bluesky/etc. is sky-writing. You're putting your messages out there for everybody to see. Opponents will use what you post to characterize everybody even marginally on your side.

For my part, I've always wanted some form of consolidated database of the scandals and vileness of Trumpworld. Something like that will be needed during Nuremberg 2.0. To my knowledge, what we've got is a couple of dedicated Redditors and things like the Campaign Legal Center's corruption reports.

Largely same. My only problem with this idea is that it butts up against some real physical limits via-a-vis natl parks. They already get so damn crowded, diminishing the experience a bit for everybody who resentfully makes up the crowd.

What persuadable voters see when anyone forces Trump to govern better, whether it's a Dem majority or his own staff, is Trump "learning". This is partly him as wealth totem, partly the nature of the presidency, but it's exceptional thanks to how he's made himself the sole protagonist of US politics.

I can't describe how much that inspired me.
They’re weird, sure, but there’s something deeply tragic about being born in a time where we’re confident transformative things can happen* (e.g. dramatic life extension), but also where enough work has to be done that nobody alive today will likely benefit. A feeling of being left behind.

Grotesque: In a dispute over a will, two brothers including a retired Alabama state trooper now working at a federal courthouse, appear to have gotten their mother-in-law arrested by ICE. Using the state to remove disfavored family members is the sort of thing that happens in totalitarian regimes.
