It's pretty funny of Madonna to adopt cocaine culture after waiting 70 years for other pop stars to make it cool

Screenshots of articles mentioning Madonna speaking out about drug use in 2012 and then in 2026 talking about blowing lines to help sell her new album

I'm not at all a skilled visual artist. AI picture editors were basically made for people like me. So, out of defensive anger, I spent an hour with my tablet manually recreating this picture of my dog yesterday and it's, by far, the coolest, best way I've spent an hour recently

A lot of people are clowning on the AI-ness of this graphic but I'd like to also point out how utterly devoid of real meaning the contents are. Who is the audience for this? Who needs these definitions while also understanding what "productive property" is? Consultancies gotta consult

What is capitalism?

Capitalism is a system of political economy. Many people think capitalism simply means markets. It does not. Capitalism is a particular way of organising ownership, work and production. Its defining feature is private ownership of productive property and the profits, interests and rents that ownership generates. That is what makes capitalism different from earlier ways of organizing society.

I did an infographic on Marx recently. This seems like the appropriate follow-up. In one way or another, I used AI in creating this post. I also used a word processor, my brain, thinking time, coffee, discussion, and about 50 years of reading.

An infographic on capitalism.

there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create

These third country deportations are among the most evil acts of the Trump administration. They're trying to extrajudicially punish people for seeking asylum, up to and including with death.

Great reporting from @emilybregel.bsky.social about a gay man who’s been in the US since he was four, imprisoned in a “hotel” in Equatorial Guinea since April. He says he’s being denied soap and toilet paper in retaliation for filing a complaint w African Commission. 1/ tucson.com/news/local/b...

One of the (many) reasons I think people are so anti-AI is that it’s a gratuitous display of wealth inequality. The average person’s life is difficult, expensive, and getting any kind of loan sucks - unless you’re raising billions of dollars to build an AI data center.

Was awesome to join Bloomberg to talk about the lie of AI - everyone's buying into the mag7 believing CapEx is going towards diverse AI demand, when all it's really doing is supporting the circular cloud revenues of two unprofitable, unsustainable AI labs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHcZ...

Who am I to weigh in on *discourse* but I feel like it's worth saying that if you base your vote on what several dozen people on the internet say about your favorite candidate, your theory of politics deserves re-examination In fact the internet should weigh very little if you ask me. but who am I

You are working in a job that doesn't pay horribly but not great either, prices are rising, and you see some 24 year old Hillsdale grad in the Trump administration making $180,000 a year and are really bad at it, and you are just saying to yourself, WTF.

Faine Greenwood@faineg.bsky.social · 5d ago

it’s never a great sign for your society when all the competent people who believe in doing a good job for the sake of it conclude that they’re actively being punished for these qualities, while malignantly stupid criminals are making bank

I didn't really know much about Boy George until recently. I would say that the second most offensive thing about him is how bad he looks like he smells

The Trump administration has gone months without paying attorneys who represent unaccompanied immigrant children as part of a years-old, congressionally-funded effort. The latest in a series of temporary bridge contracts ends tomorrow, with no replacement in sight: www.huffpost.com/entry/unacco...

These Lawyers Make Sure Children Don’t Face Deportation Hearings Alone. Trump Hasn't Paid Them In Months.

“We know what happens when children go to court without an attorney,” a lawyer said. “One word: deportation.”

It is in fact racist to call an Arab with views you disagree with an antisemite. I know this will be a surprise to many but unless that person is actually saying something antisemitic, the Arab is not genetically predisposed to antisemitism
