Vision Zero Vancouver@visionzerovancouver.ca · 3w agoWarning, hearing first-hand reports that the VPD are ticketing cyclists westbound at 1st & Crowe. There's a VPD parking lot on the right and a cop hit a cyclist there recently. Approx 0% of cars stop at this stop sign but they specifically said they're only targetting cyclists.
Spent all day in Vancouver riding around on a rented e-bike and I gotta say: riding around a city on an electric bike on good protected bike infrastructure is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on.
The thing about ripping out bike lanes is it doesn't stop us from biking, it just makes it more dangerous. And if I feel unsafe, I take the lane.
This may feel like a "water is wet" moment for cycling advocates but these types of things need to be shouted over and over until the it becomes common sense to all. @momentummag.bsky.social momentummag.com/study-finds-...

Cyclist - "What did I do wrong?" Cop - "You didn't stop." If true, this is excessive use of force for a traffic stop. Mayor Chow & @ausmalik.bsky.social plz look into this.
