Car-free Tigard Trick-or-Treat Main Street was a success! So many people came downtown to walk and roll when the street was open to people instead of using that space for free car storage. I was able to connect with so many folks. Let's do this more often! #Tigard

Fully ran out of battery on the UA for the first time. Luckily, I'd already decided to ride the longer, flatter route home. Turns out you can't make it to 60 k on a full charge + 45 minute top up 😂 #yycbike

Last official bike bus of 2026 and the snow was flying! We got to school and a group of daycare kids asked why we were biking in the snow/cold. Because we can! (Not looking forward to this darkness now until March though!) #yycbike

We got our family photos back and they are truly some of the sweetest. We do this every year (even though I don't always feel like I want to be photographed) & they're the most precious memories. Our photographer is incredible.

Victim blaming season is back, alongside darker evenings and mornings. But perhaps it’s time to recognise that like “cities aren’t loud; cars are loud”, our roads aren’t dangerous by themselves. It’s the motor vehicles on them that create the danger and that perhaps it’s time to address the source.

I also like how this tool distinguishes between "easily bike-rideable" and "rideable with some prep." Folks who want to force car dependency often act like the "rideable with some prep" days are the days no one can/no one does ride bikes, as if it's impossible to put on a jacket and gloves.

If your downtown still has many wide and fast one-way streets, then your priority is to move cars as fast as possible thru a weak downtown. It’s NOT to create a vibrant downtown, help downtown retailers, keep people safe, support walkability and accessibility, reduce pollution, etc. #TrafficSewers
