Day 3 of the #WarsawUprising: 21-year-old messenger Henryka Narostek lost her life the same day her 24-year-old fiancé, Antoni Grabowski, was killed. That morning Antoni’s platoon had dismantled rails between Legionowo and Chotomów to derail German trains, blocking a key route.

Day 2 of the #WarsawUprising and 23 year old medic, Maria Kwiecinska, codename, "Maja" was killed alongside her husband Lieutenant Zbigniew Kwieciński, codename "Pretwicz". They were part of a group of insurgents who launched an attack on a Dominican Monastery in the southern part of Warsaw.
It was #OTD at 5pm in 1944 that the brave citizens of Warsaw rose up against their oppressors. Thousands of men, women and children took up arms to free their city from German hands.
It was #OTD in 1944, in the first few hours of the #WarsawUprising, 18 year old nurse, Dorota Łempicka, codename,"Dorota" was seriously wounded trying to help another wounded soldier, Lieutenant Franciszek Gramza codename "Franek". Dorota and Franciszek died from the injuries they sustained that day
