Otter and pup foraging around the margins of Loch Broom this morning. Mum was swimming out whilst the little one turned stones in a burn, exploring for crabs.
Relax with a whole minute of Porpoises travelling across calm Loch Broom this morning. It’s best way to start the week.
Dolphins from my windows by Loch Broom … and with young.
Hornets I’ve met. Every encounter I’ve had has been surprisingly calm. These were all photographed at close quarters, and I continue to find them fascinating rather than frightening.
Dark Green Fritillaries and a speedy Green Tiger Beetle. All loving the uncustomary heat here in the highlands.
Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface
It’s just over a year since I started leaving supplementary forage out for the Pine Marten I discovered. Now look what’s happened. 🙂 A mother with three healthy kits. @rspb.bsky.social @rspbscotland.bsky.social #PineMarten #BritishWildlife #ScottishHighlands #Wildlife #Nature #Conservation
I've signed @zero-hour.bsky.social's petition calling on Andy Burnham to Secure Our Future—to meet the UK's climate and nature commitments, pass the Nature + National Security Bill, and reject all new oil and gas. Will you join me? www.zerohour.uk/andy

I found this specimen dead on my steps today. I think it’s a giant birch sawfly, but I’ve never seen one before. @georgemcgavin.bsky.social

Here are some simple rules for gardening, courtesy of the RSPB at Arne.....
Drama On My Drive! It looks like this year’s young are being encouraged to leave home @georgemcgavin.bsky.social #PineMarten #ScottishWildlife
Vile, unacceptable, and buggers up the ecology of the UK....and what for? So a bunch of entitled idiots can go around shooting at live targets. Shameful...
EXPOSED. This is the realty of the British bird shooting industry. Endless rows of 'raised cages' where pheasants are mass bred on farms across the country to ensure there are millions of birds to be shot for 'sport'.
Found this beetle in my little woods today with what appear to be mites hitching a ride. I think it may be a common dor beetle. What do you think @georgemcgavin.bsky.social
