Reading papers has become a real challenge. I either have to have a panda keep a spot for me in line, or prove that I am not a bot, or prove that I am human, or identify all pictures with bicycles, ladders, unicorns. Screw it, I am going to the library to find journal hard copies and read in peace

----- PLS SHARE WIDELY ----- I have 2 positions to fill asap: 1) a 3-year postdoctoral position, creating single-cell atlases across species and development. 2) a 4-year (!) PhD position, to create anatomical atlases. Both will work together on integrating these two strands of information...!

Latest work from the team driven by our fantastic post-doc Maribel Arjona. Using cytoplasm extract fractions and active rheology, we adress how endomembranes, that pack the cell interior, influence the mechanics of the cytoplasm! @ijmonod.bsky.social @cnrsbiologie.bsky.social

A Composite Endomembrane Suspension Governs Cytoplasm Rheology https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.64898/2026.07.20.739612v1

4️⃣ What keeps your curiosity alive? "Curiosity isn't something you maintain. It's either there or it's not. There are things that feed it, like giving it time and sharing it with others, and things that can kill it, like bureaucracy."

2️⃣ What scientific question excites you the most today? "It's a quest rather than a question. Jacques Cousteau was once asked what he expected to find on his next expedition. He replied, 'If I knew, I wouldn't go.' I hope our lab can discover biology that nobody had expected."

Probably the first scientific description of regeneration in crustaceans, by Réaumur 1712 The paper starts like this: Scholars are as wary of the marvellous as common people are ready to believe it. ... 🧵 1/3

Very honoured to present #UniFr and #Switzerland in the 2026 FKNE cohort ! Looking forward to be part of a network with so many bright minds, to promote (neuro)science research and education not only in Europe but also #LMICs, and to bring our comparative, cross-species approach to FKNE.
