It's tribal records, artifacts, art, regalia, ceremonial grounds, things that have been passed from generation to generation, hidden, protected and preserved, repatriated and restored.
I want people to understand the full impact of the devastation that First Nations in Canada are facing. It's NOT just that people and wildlife are losing their homes...it's the history that is being lost for generations to come.
My favorite Sam Neil fact will always be that he designed a future Australian flag that replaces the union jack with the aboriginal flag for Event Horizon and insisted the film use it.
Sad to hear about Sam Neill. 😢 Like many, I knew him best from Jurassic Park, a favourite film since childhood. He will be missed.

Finishing up Medicine Walk by Richard Wagamese, and sometimes I just have to stop and reflect on how beautifully written a passage is. The first book I ever read from him was Indian Horse, years ago, and I remember how great but emotionally tough it was to get through. He is dearly missed.
