This is super-broad, but for me, a core appeal of genre fiction, especially SFF, is that characters have a real chance to change their world in a big, meaningful way. The Empire can be defeated, the Ring can be destroyed, the lost kingdom can be restored, the broken people can be healed.

Perhaps some WHOLESOME SFF discourse given last weekend? I found out recently that a friend of mine, *not* of this parish, has a thing for amnesia subplots in stories. So my question for you, what tropes particularly wet your whistle, particularly in SFF?
