for those interested, these messages were deleted on the new yaoi con’s instagram and include insight about their stance on fujoshis and some interesting implications about “real” gay/queer culture
you would think horror would be one of the genres that are bit difficult to draw wrt comics but unironically it's what i default to and comes easiest to me... 😭 maybe b/c i've done so much research on it...

I'll always remind people this is mostly a North American comics problem. other comic industries in the world credit artists as equal or starring collaborators, and if an artist leaves a project it usually means the project ends rather than being passed off to another, which is more the exception

Our designs, layouts, input, expressions, character interactions. Comics can't exist without their artists.
also real talk even if you get into a prestigious fair or get picked up by an indie publisher you still aren't going to make enough money to quit your day job So i think you should just draw the unpublishable sicko shit you really want to draw and print a doujinshi
