It’s *possible* I can register for the exam without it, especially since I’m 90% sure my UCLA transcript (which also must be uploaded) does acknowledge that I graduated from a California high school. I’ll check and see once I get back to where I’m staying.

Heh, turns out despite my minor hand injury (which is still going untreated, but has improved on its own through self-care), my typing speed has actually *increased* since 2023. I credit FF14 and other PC games, lol. (NB: Ratatype tests "net speed," ie. this is 58 wpm *after* accounting for typos.)

Current bother: Getting the runaround from seemingly incompetent (or at least uncommunicative) schedulers at Alaska Neighborhood Heath Center. Context here is that I was a patient there in 2023, and reached out to re-establish care.

Maybe they need more staff, so that people taking a week off doesn’t cause targets to be missed. Or maybe they could coordinate to just close the administration for a week, if people being gone at different times is causing deadline issues. (Can you tell I have skill in Operations roles?)

Tangentially related, what is it with UA people constantly saying "I'm contacting you to schedule but I'm going to be out of the office so my schedule is limited"?

Gonna rain all next week again. Hopefully it isn’t raining too hard for my interview on Tuesday, since it’s a 45-ish minute walk. That walk is perfectly fine with me, wouldn’t have a problem with it every day, but for an interview specifically I’d like to make a good impression.

I also got a code for Soulframe Prelude, and a private one-on-one training session on Mag with a “mentor,” who I gathered is like a GM in Warframe, based on their ability to spawn enemies—which mentors in FF14 cannot do. (And thank fuck for that lmao.)

Of course, stable work would ameliorate at least some of these issues - but that seems to not be happening either. Genuinely, is there any good reason *not* to feel hopeless right now? People keep saying "things will get better" but I was told the same in 2019. Nobody actually has any specifics.

Texts from the landlord regarding the current situations. I do genuinely appreciate them trying. What I’m reading here, though, is “none of this is going to improve especially soon.”

Like yeah, I guess I could send an email to that generic email address, or even just to ua-hrtalent@alaska.edu - but if that offer were more than lipservice, you'd think they'd provide an actual point of contact, like literally every other entity does when they're being genuine.

Hah, that one UA position I kept mentioning that I applied to back in May and that never acknowledged receipt of my application? It just rejected me.

Yeah, and tbch it's probably a flag of what the whole work environment would be like. There is a line between bureaucracy (which often has a purpose, much as it's derided) and busywork (which is making things more complicated or time-consuming for no purpose). This seems to be the latter.
