There’s like six.” Fae: “What the hell kind of bargains have you been making?” Me: “They call it health insurance.”

Heh, turns out despite my minor hand injury (which is still going untreated, but has improved on its own through self-care), my typing speed has actually *increased* since 2023. I credit FF14 and other PC games, lol. (NB: Ratatype tests "net speed," ie. this is 58 wpm *after* accounting for typos.)

A typing test showing I typed 58 words per minute with 93.8% accuracy.

“Friendly reminder that if anyone in the server is making you uncomfortable, you can always contact the admins privately.” ^ This is never unprompted. It should be read as “the admins know someone’s being a creep and both (a) want members to know they’ve got their back, and (b) want evidence.”

Hmm. The executive assistant for the head of HR sends an email about keeping legs covered in manufacturing/chemical areas. I wonder who nearly got injured

Pleasant surprise, I did actually receive a response and will be scheduling a one-on-one with a UAHR person for next week. It's probably irrational of me, but the language of this reply is not inspiring confidence that they're actually interested in helping me.

I did the thing. I will be pleasantly surprised if I ever receive any response at all, much less any meaningful response. This shit sucks, man.

Gonna rain all next week again. Hopefully it isn’t raining too hard for my interview on Tuesday, since it’s a 45-ish minute walk. That walk is perfectly fine with me, wouldn’t have a problem with it every day, but for an interview specifically I’d like to make a good impression.

imagine being treated like you cannot make demands, like you must perform incompetence and “deserving poor” in order to access soul-crushing “charity” that is often expired food, uninhabitable living conditions, other people’s savior complexes.

Also, to the person who sent me $75, thank you. I generally say I'm not out of money and that if you have money to give, please give it to those who it'll more immediately help. But also, an extra $1.50 per day actually *does* meaningfully improve my budget over the next 50 days, so thank you.

It’s the same way 2” of snow will shut down Raleigh, if you aren’t used to it and don’t have the infrastructure, it’s a big deal!

BTW, I have some invite codes for Soulframe, if anyone wants. I don't have an unlimited number, so if I get flooded with requests priority will go to people I actually know or interact with - but at this point I'm struggling to find anyone interested who doesn't already have access.

I also got a code for Soulframe Prelude, and a private one-on-one training session on Mag with a “mentor,” who I gathered is like a GM in Warframe, based on their ability to spawn enemies—which mentors in FF14 cannot do. (And thank fuck for that lmao.)

Yeah, and tbch it's probably a flag of what the whole work environment would be like. There is a line between bureaucracy (which often has a purpose, much as it's derided) and busywork (which is making things more complicated or time-consuming for no purpose). This seems to be the latter.
