Because if one campaign can show that *that* much money and *that* much old guard support doesn’t guarantee victory, it cracks open what can be imagined. It widens the aperture of what’s possible.
Our dog got old and she’s more or less fine sans an absurd geriatric cough but the worst part of her grandma stage is that she hates snuggling now (she used to literally spoon to fall asleep) and we’re basically just subsidizing a furry indifferent brick and it’s low key depressing

To even describe them as ideologically conservative is too generous. They are partisan politicians.
The USA has the resources to be the envy of the world but we just shit in our bed and track dirt in the house.

I know this sort of thought exercise is tiring, but imagine if a Democratic president cancelled grants only for states that voted against them. There’d be wall-to-wall coverage and impeachment hearings!
